Pharmacy First Service

The Pharmacy First scheme is an NHS initiative offering professional healthcare advice and treatment for seven common illnesses right at your local pharmacy.

Available in most of our stores across England, this service requires no appointment. Our dedicated pharmacists are ready to assist you in the privacy of a consultation room. It’s a convenient way to address your health concerns quickly and efficiently.

Pharmacy First offers quick access to advice and treatment, including prescription medicines when appropriate, for seven common conditions. Here are the conditions covered and their age criteria:

Sinusitis (12 years and over)
Sore throat (5 years and over)
Earache (1–17 years)
Infected insect bites and stings (1 year and older)
Impetigo (1 year and older)
Shingles (18 years and over)
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) in women (16-64 years)

Please note that additional eligibility criteria apply. If you fall outside these criteria, our pharmacists can still offer advice and care, such as recommending an over-the-counter treatment or referring you to another healthcare provider if necessary.
